Dr Chris Blenkin is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon working in private practice from Brisbane, Queensland. 

 

Dr Blenkin is now retired from surgical practice and is not accepting new patient referrals. 

​

He graduated in Medicine from the University of Queensland and completed his Orthopaedic training in 1992.

​

In 1993, Dr Blenkin worked in the United Kingdom, at both Warwick and Royal Orthopaedic Hospitals, Birmingham undertaking a Fellowship in Hand Surgery.

​

Dr Blenkin was a Visiting Medical Officer with an appointment at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital's Hand Clinic for twenty-five years until 2019. He was actively involved in the teaching of medical students, junior doctors, orthopaedic surgical trainees and post graduate fellowships.

​

In private practice, Dr Blenkin has attended Greenslopes Hospital, Wesley Hospital and Gallipoli Barracks. His current private practice is located at St Andrew's Place, Spring Hill. Dr Blenkin was a long-term Visiting Medical Officer at St Andrew's War Memorial Hospital for 30 years.

Dr Blenkin was a Committee Member of the Queensland Branch of the Australian Orthopaedic Association.  His final position was that of State President.

​

He has served on various committees for WorkCover Queensland, Queensland Health and the Australia Orthopaedic Association.  He is long-term clinical advisor to Avant.

​

Memberships include the Australian Hand Surgery Society, Shoulder and Elbow Society of Australia, Queensland Hand Surgery Society & Queensland Shoulder Society.
